Hey KUTS Family,

In today’s scripture, we are introduced to Jesus’s one of many “I AM” statements. Jesus said that He is the bread of life! We all know that food is essential for life, but Jesus is pointing us to a spiritual reality in this verse. Back in Exodus when the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they relied on the LORD to provide their physical hunger and God provided bread by raining down manna from heaven. Jesus makes the same reference of Him being the “bread of life” because He descended down from heaven in the same way the manna did, but Jesus came to nourish our soul. When we believe and receive Jesus into our hearts, He is the one who gives us true satisfaction for our souls. As the scriptures say, “Man shall not live by bread alone… food will only satisfy us temporarily, but Jesus is our true source who gives us life and eternal satisfaction!

En la Escritura de hoy, se nos presenta una de las muchas declaraciones de “YO SOY” de Jesús. ¡Jesús dijo que Él es el pan de vida! Todos sabemos que la comida es esencial para la vida, pero Jesús nos señala una realidad espiritual en este versículo. En Éxodo, cuando los hijos de Israel estaban en el desierto, confiaron en el Señor para satisfacer su hambre física y Dios les proporcionó pan haciendo llover maná del cielo. Jesús hace la misma referencia de ser el “pan de vida” porque descendió del cielo de la misma manera que lo hizo el maná, pero Jesús vino a alimentar nuestra alma. Cuando creemos y recibimos a Jesús en nuestro corazón, Él es quien nos da la verdadera satisfacción para nuestra alma. Como dicen las Escrituras: “No sólo de pan vivirá el hombre… la comida sólo nos saciará temporalmente, ¡pero Jesús es nuestra verdadera fuente que nos da vida y satisfacción eterna!

Hey KUTS Family,

Today’s scripture is about spiritual warfare! Throughout our journey of faith, Jesus warned us that we would have trouble in this world, but that we should take heart because He has already overcome the world! Hallelujah! But today’s scripture gives us helpful insight on what to do to resist the enemy. We are to be sober minded and watchful! To be sober minded is to have a clear mind to discern what is going on around you. The enemy walks around “like” a lion that is hungry and seeks to devour! James chapter 4 verse 7 tells us that if we resist the devil, he will flee from us. And in times of spiritual warfare we must be watchful and aware so that we can spiritually detect demonic activity. The Bible says that our battle is not against flesh & blood but rather against principalities in high places. May we armor up, stand firm and press in during times of warfare and remember that the victory belongs to Jesus, He has already overcome this!

¡La Escritura de hoy trata sobre la guerra espiritual! A lo largo de nuestro camino de fe, Jesús nos advirtió que tendríamos problemas en este mundo, pero que deberíamos animarnos porque Él ya venció al mundo. ¡Aleluya! Pero la Escritura de hoy nos da una idea útil sobre qué hacer para resistir al enemigo. ¡Debemos ser sobrios y vigilantes! Ser sobrio es tener la mente clara para discernir lo que sucede a nuestro alrededor. ¡El enemigo anda “como” un león que tiene hambre y busca devorar! Santiago capítulo 4 versículo 7 nos dice que si resistimos al diablo, él huirá de nosotros. Y en tiempos de guerra espiritual debemos estar atentos y conscientes para poder detectar espiritualmente la actividad demoníaca. La Biblia dice que nuestra batalla no es contra sangre y carne sino contra principados en lugares altos. Que nos armemos, nos mantengamos firmes y avancemos durante tiempos de guerra y recordemos que la victoria pertenece a Jesús, ¡Él ya venció a este mundo!

Hey KUTS Family, Today’s scripture gives us a b

Hey KUTS Family,

Today’s scripture gives us a beautiful description of Gods character. He is the God of compassion, mercy, He’s slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. When we see what Jesus did on the cross for us, this depicts Gods mercy for mankind. While we were yet sinners, God had mercy on us and made a way for us to be forgiven of our sins by putting Jesus in our place instead. His compassion goes a step further by being patient with us. As humans we tend to have a short fuse when it comes to offense but God on the other hand is slow to anger. Although it may feel like He is mad at us when we fall short, the Bible actually tells us that He is patient with us, not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance. Lastly, Gods love for us is unfailing in the sense that it never falls short. He continually outpours His love for us and it never ends! May we reflect on Gods character and trust that He is faithful to who He says He is!

La Escritura de hoy nos da una hermosa descripción del carácter de Dios. Él es el Dios de compasión, misericordia, es lento para la ira y está lleno de amor y fidelidad inagotables. Cuando vemos lo que Jesús hizo por nosotros en la cruz, esto representa la misericordia de Dios para la humanidad. Mientras aún éramos pecadores, Dios tuvo misericordia de nosotros y abrió un camino para que seamos perdonados de nuestros pecados al poner a Jesús en nuestro lugar. Aunque pueda parecer que está enojado con nosotros cuando fallamos, la Biblia en realidad nos dice que Él es paciente con nosotros y no está dispuesto a que ninguno perezca, sino que todos procedan al arrepentimiento. Por último, el amor de Dios por nosotros es inagotable en el sentido de que nunca falla. ¡Él continuamente derrama Su amor por nosotros y nunca termina!
